3D Printer Tutorial: Answers to Frequently Asked Questions for Users

After buying a 3D printer, some small partners encountered some problems during the use process. They will not be able to solve them for a while. If they communicate with the manufacturer, they may not reply so quickly, so they may go to Google by themselves, and the more confusion they become. Here I have collected some common questions and answers for your reference.

Model Warping

reason:

  • 1. The distance between the model and the platform is too high, resulting in low adhesion between the model and the platform.
  • 2. The surface layer of the platform’s textured paper or other materials has a small self-adhesive force.
  • 3. Insufficient strength of the platform itself.

deal with:

  • 1. Make sure that the distance between the model and the platform is one piece of A4 paper.
  • 2. Replace 3D printing special masking paper, or other film.
  • 3. Add a piece of flat glass to the pcb hot bed (preferably carbon crystal silicon glass)

Model Fault

reason:

  • 1. There are many sundries in the printing material, and the thickness is uneven.
  • 2. The model printing rate is too fast.
  • 3. Extruder force is too large or too small.

deal with:

  • 1. Replace the printing materials to ensure the quality of the materials.
  • 2. The speed is adjusted within the normal range, up and down 60-80mm/S.
  • 3. If it is an adjustable extruder, adjust the size of the extrusion force to ensure that the temperature of the extruder motor does not exceed 50 degrees after 2 hours of operation.

Stop During 3D Printing

reason:

  • 1. The temperature of the nozzle suddenly drops below 180 degrees.
  • 2. A plug-in that stops at a certain height is set in the slicing software.
  • 3. There is a problem with the printing program.
  • 4. The SD card stores too much data.

deal with:

  • 1. Check whether the heating tube is not tightened, or whether the thermal sensor is not installed properly. Heating tube or sensor problem.
  • 2. Slice again and cancel the command to stop at a certain height.
  • 3. Use slicing software to check whether the model data is abnormal.
  • 4. Delete unnecessary data in the sd card.

Temperature Alarm Occurs

Reason: MinTEMP or maxTEMP occurs on the screen, indicating that there is a problem with the heating tube or the temperature sensor.

Treatment: Check whether the heating tube and temperature sensor are installed correctly, whether they are loose or disconnected. If not resolved, replace the heating tube or temperature sensor.
